Village hopping down to the Grand Union Canal…
Wow!! Again so fortunate to be spoilt by our hostess Barbara in Swineshead, Bedfordshire. We had a lovely stay and again were treated to some great home cooked meals.
Soon enough we were off with London our destination. We wanted to reach it tomorrow evening so we dawdled through the villages to meet the canal at Stoke Hampton.
In Bletsoe we came across a display of scarecrows in every garden and I had to take a few pics. Not quite sure of the reason and no one around to ask I will have to Google it!!
We crossed over the 6 lane M1 into Salford and found this unusual designed church with a wooden bell tower and three huge brass bells. It was the Church of St Alban but again no further details available.
From here we went via Little Brickhill then over Great Brickhill and cruised down to Stoke Hampton and the Grand Union Canal.
I stopped at the Three Locks Pub for wifi and a pot of tea. We then pedalled another 5 miles to Leighton Buzzard to shop at Tesco and another 4 miles to the Grove Lock to camp on the canal.
Tomorrow we head for London and will spend a week exploring the sights on offer.
